Bridge Hub
The development of bridges to connect other networks, such as Ethereum, have always been part of the plan for Polkadot. Even before the launch of Kusama, there were already plans in place for a bridge between Polkadot and Kusama. However, creating secure bridge technology is a challenging task, as recent security breaches have shown. Despite these difficulties, the team at Parity, in partnership with Snowfork and the Web3 Foundation, has made significant progress and launched common good parachain BridgeHub on Kusama network.
A bridge hub would of course be a hub, and support more bridges than just one between Polkadot and Kusama. Parity is also working with Snowfork on an Ethereum bridge to launch on the same hub.
The implementation of a bridge between Polkadot and Kusama will enable collectives such as the Alliance and Fellowship to serve both networks with ease. Additionally, it will also allow Kusama to actively participate and act as a unified entity within these groups or within the Polkadot network as a whole.
