Polkadex Orderbook is a non-custodial, peer-to-peer trading platform that merges the benefits of both centralized and decentralized exchanges into a next-generation decentralized product suite. Thanks to Polkadex's unique tech architecture, users get the best of both CEX and DEX worlds while trading trust-lessly on Polkadex.
Additional functionality of Polkadex includes PolkaIDO, a revolutionary, fully on-chain IDO platform to make IDOs fairer and more transparent, fungible assets for teams that want to mint their native tokens, NFTs and other features down the line. The goal of Polkadex is to bring masses to DeFi through products that can be used by novice and professional crypto traders, institutions and blockchain project teams.
Polkadex is part of the Polkadot ecosystem and the first project that uses a Substrate abstraction layer for SGX technology, called SubstraTEE, to build a DEX. The architecture of the Polkadex Orderbook is a combination of multiple technologies: blockchain, parachain, TEE, IPFS and other latest technologies available in the blockchain industry today.
Polkadex is a proud member of the Substrate Builders Program and the Polkadex team works closely with the Parity team on technical and strategic issues and decisions. For more insight into why Polkadex's Web3 Foundation grant was terminated, visit the FAQ section on this page.
Why was the Polkadex Web3 Foundation Grant terminated?
Polkadex participated in the Web3 Foundation Grants program and actually completed the first (out of two) milestone in its grant. This gave the Polkadex team some funding to continue building Polkadex. After that, as Polkadex raised seed and private rounds and began to grow, the team decided not to continue with the second milestone of the grant as sepending time and resources on finishing the second milestone to receive the rest of the grant’s funding no longer made sense. Thus, the grant was terminated.
However, the Polkadex team has continued to work closely with the Parity team as a part of the Substrate Builders Program; getting helpful technical support on challenging issues and important feedback on strategic decisions. Polkadex was even featured by the Parity team as a Substrate case study: https://substrate.io/ecosystem/projects/case-studies/polkadex/
